About us

Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam was established by Sri Adi Sankara in the year 482 B.C. (see About and History) and has the distinction of an unbroken line of 70 Acharyas (spiritual leaders). The Peetam has initiated and successfully established several educational, Cultural and Wellness initiatives across India and abroad.

Message from the Correspondent

Namaskaram
This is a challenging time for our country in terms of our receding culture and traditions. It is necessary to impart our culture and Sanatana traditions to our future generations. Keeping this in mind, His Holiness Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam wanted to start an institution for teaching such values to our children.

Sanatana Dharma Seva Gramam (SDSG) is the result of His wish which is spread in a serene 31 acre land in Obulakkapalle Village, near Podili, 60km from Ongole, Prakasam District. This place is identified to be the centre of excellence that integrates modern education with the Sanatana Dharma by HH Sankaracharya Sri Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati, of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. The aim of this institution, Sri Sankara Vidyalaya, is to keep alive the Bhartiyata with modern thinking in terms of Science and Technology at the same time encouraging students for simple living with high thinking. The students are encouraged to learn shlokas, understand and imbibe the rich cultural heritage of our country and become the beacons of tomorrow’s society. Every child is born with a potential which needs to be tapped at the right time and moment. I am sure that with the divine blessings of His Holiness, the Vidyalaya will grow to its fullest in the time to come. I convey my best wishes in the path to success.

Message from the Principal

Under the aegis and benign blessings of HH Sri Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati, the 69th Peethadhipati of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, the Kanchi Kamakoti Sankara Vidyalaya was instituted in 2024. It amalgamates both the Indian cultural values with modern education. The main aim of the institution is to help the children to hold on to the basic values of Sanatana Dharma that is already deeply rooted in us and to protect it. It is to help today's generation to understand the core of Vedic rituals which is losing its lustre in this fast driven modern world. It is also time that we realise what we have and are forgetting to transfer the knowledge of Sanatana Dharma that has in itself so much to do with the basic lifestyle. In the words of HH Vidya, Vaidyam, Vignyanam are the immediate requisites of a society. To add to it- Vyavasayam should not be forgotten. The institution promotes cultural/fine Arts and music along with Yoga, Tailoring and Traditional cooking to Robotics and Drone technology aiming to develop it into a skill centre.
