Introduction

Jagadguru Shankaracharyas of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham have been blessing Andhra Pradesh since time immemorial with their Vijay Yatras, establishments of spiritual centres, Sankara Mathams , Veda Pathasalas , Academic institutions and the like.

Sri Sri Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Swamigal has ordained to establish a CBSE school, Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Sankara Vidyalaya (Boys) in Obulakkapalli village, 50 km beyond Podili in Ongole district of Andhra Pradesh. Other highlights of the school include School Hostel, Health Care Centre, Gosala, Staff Quarters, Cricket ground, Skill development Centre, Athletic track and many more. The main aim is to impart education for peaceful and happy living designed to preserve, protect and propagate Sanatana Dharma through generations. It ensures a traditional Value-based integrated Education.

Students who have joined have come from different parts of AP and Telangana.

The school began its operations for the first time on June 20, 2024 with just two classes i.e. grades VI & VII with a total strength of 45 students which included both the Day scholars and the hostellers.

Vision & Mission

Sufficient staff was recruited with the required eligibility criteria and experience. The teachers followed NCERT Text books and CBSE curriculum.

A bridge course for both the grades was conducted for two months followed by the regular syllabus. Pre-test and Post-test for all the subjects were conducted followed by the Unit tests1, Half-yearly exams, Unit-test 2 and Final-term exams.

Most of the students are from rural background and thus communication in English language became a great challenge. Recruitment of teachers was easier but retaining became a challenge.

Parent Teachers Meet was conducted twice a year. Positive communication between the parent and the teachers leads to the improvement in the efficacy of education. The progress of the child does not solely depend upon the teacher as it is a joint venture. Feedback is given to the parent regarding their child’s performance in academics, behaviour in the class, health etc.

PTM for both the grades was conducted on Sept 14 (Sat) 2024 and 23 Nov.(sat) 2024.

In spite of the challenges faced by the school the following were the Events and Achievements of the students in the school’s first year 2024-25. Students took part in the events with great enthusiasm.

On July 13, 2024 the teachers visited Sri Kanchipuram and had Darshan and Sambhashan with Jagadguru.

Independence Day was celebrated on August 15, 2024. Extempore for grade VII and Drawing & Painting for grade VI was organised on this occasion.

VALUES: This school is a culmination of traditional values and contemporary education. It is aptly said that the end of education is character building. Value education is rooted in Indian philosophy and culture and ingrained in every tradition of Indian culture. Educational institutions play a pivotal role in the promotion of values. SKKSV is no exception. Value education helps the child to imbibe the core values like being honest, truthful at all times, give respect to everyone, forgiving nature, helping the needy, being tolerant etc. Children are taught values through various activities.
The Inter-House Competitions were conducted to bring out the innate talent of the students. The following is the list of IHCs conducted during the academic year.

Prizes and certificates were given to the students.

Mathematics Week was organised on 22 December 2024 to honour the memory of Mathematical genius Srinivasan Ramanujan. Students shown keen interest in making charts, puzzles, models etc. and also explained well.

Annual Sports Meet was conducted on March 15, 2025. Mr.Guda Ram Mohan and Smt. Padma Gayathri were the Chief Guests for the day. Various indoor and outdoor games were conducted. Student’s enthusiasm knew no bounds. They were very well- disciplined throughout the event. Chess, carroms, races, javelin throw, shot put, kho kho, kabaddi long jump were the highlights.

K.Srikara was declared the Best Sportsperson of the year and House Vashishtha bagged the Best House in Sports Trophy for the year 2024-25. The Chief guests and the Director, Mr. Ashwini Kumar gave away the Gold and Silver Medals.
